<B>147 Traditional Stories for Primary School Children to Retell </B><I> </I>, SMITH, CHRIS
1 147 Traditional Stories for Primary School Children to Retell
SMITH, CHRIS
1907359397 / 9781907359392
Here is the perfect collection for any teacher who needs a sourcebook of great traditional stories for children aged 5-11 to work from. This book is a handy one-stop shop of 147 stories to retell, with an index linking all the stories to topics, values, plot types, genre, age group and country of origin. The stories come with extensive sources and alternate print and web versions for teachers to use when working with the stories. All are written in the storyteller’s voice, for easy retelling by teachers and students. Stories come with tips for telling and may be photocopied within the school.

Chris Smith developed the Storytelling Schools’ learning model, ‘Where children learn to be storytellers’ over ten years working with schools. He chose this collection in response to teachers’ requests for appropriate stories so that children can learn to retell stories as a powerful way of learning.

The collection is the first companion book to The Storytelling School: Handbook for Teachers.

<B>A Spiritual Roadmap </B><I> Walking the Path in the Twenty-first Century</I>, BURTON, MICHAEL HEDLEY
8 A Spiritual Roadmap Walking the Path in the Twenty-first Century
BURTON, MICHAEL HEDLEY
1621481603 / 9781621481607
An investigation into the "threshold" - what it is, how humanity is meeting it today, and how it can be crossed.

"I am being driven forward
into an unknown land.
The pass grows steeper,
the air colder and sharper.
A wind from my unknown goal
stirs the strings
of expectation.

Still the question:
will I ever get there?
There where life resounds,
a clear, pure note
in the silence."
- Dag Hammarskjöld

The phrase "walk the path" is a metaphor for the life journey of those who aim toward spiritual illumination. We all have our own unique journey in life, and no one can walk that path for us or prescribe the way we should go. Nevertheless, we sometimes encounter a fellow traveler along the way with whom insights and experiences can be shared. There is much to discuss, because today we can no longer rely on the dogmas and orthodoxies of human history. Spiritual illumination today demands a path of knowledge without preconception and fixed worldviews.

This book is written for those who have come to the point of deciding that the best thing they can do for the good of the earth and for their own fulfillment is to approach life as a quest for self-knowledge and true inner freedom. For them, this book will be an invaluable roadmap and guide for the many important milestones and crossroads we encounter in life. Michael Burton offers seven chapters that echo the seven stages of the alchemical process of illumination. It is written in such a way that it not only imparts information but also engages the reader’s life of feeling and will. No one can read this book and not be challenged to walk the path toward inner transformation.

New Zealander Michael Burton is based in Sydney and works as a writer, speech performer, actor, speech therapist, and voice teacher. He is the writer of the script for an international project to perform a play that follows on from the four initiation dramas of Rudolf Steiner. He gives performances in a number of countries of his one-man drama, Shakespeare and the Mystery of the Human Being (2003).

NOT YET PUBLISHED, DUE SEPTEMBER 2017

Each story in this collection begins with an undesirable or out-of-balance situation and, through the use of metaphor and an imaginative story journey, leads to a more desirable resolution. In this way, the stories also have the potential for nurturing positive values.

The stories cover many kinds of universal behaviour. Following the alphabet from A to Z, the behaviour is identified in the story title e.g. anxious, bossy, cranky … greedy … jealous … lazy … swearing … uncooperative ... and more. The stories can be told directly, or adapted. They can be turned into home-made picture books and puppet shows, or used as springboards for the creation of new tales for particular behaviour challenges and situations.

AUDIENCE: Educators, storytellers, therapists, school counsellors, nursery and primary teachers, play leaders, education and childcare students, parents and grandparents.

Susan Perrow runs therapeutic storytelling seminars from China to Africa, Europe to America and across her own sun-drenched land of Australia.  She is a storyteller, teacher trainer, parent educator and counsellor. She is author of Healing Stories for Challenging Behaviour and Therapeutic Storytelling. A-Z Behaviour Tales offers new stories from her research and workshops.

11 A2480 Find the Right Door With Me Advent Calendar
OTT-HEIDMANN

Size: 400 mm, 16 inches, diameter
A different and exciting calendar for the younger child.
Younger children do not always relate to numbers, and the abstract figures on the doors of many advent calendars do not mean much at first. These numbers also disturb the beautiful mood of the picture. But without them how can the correct order of the pictures be found, especially if we adults are not present to help?

This new kind of calendar solves this problem in both a simple and a creative way. In whatever order you open a window in the lower section with a candle on it, you will discover a picture motif in the top section behind which the 'actual' theme of the day is hiding. All you then have to do is to look for this picture and open the 'upper' window - without the bother of figures or dates.

So looking for the picture is fun, and finding it is fun, too - and you cannot go wrong!

Size: 400 mm diameter

VAN ROMUNDE DICK

About Formative Forces in the Plant World is a systematic and strictly phenomenological study of the formation of leaves and blossoms in flowering plants. The text is accompanied by numerous beautiful colored illustrations. Carefully following the form of leaf after leaf, Romunde uncovers basic patterns underlying leaf and blossom formation. In doing so, he leads the active reader toward an experience of the creative form-producing potential of the plant. Those who make the effort to inwardly participate in the formative movements Romunde points to will be richly rewarded.

17 According to Luke: The Gospel of Compassion and Love Revealed The Gospel of Compassion and Love Revealed
STEINER, RUDOLF, CREEGER, C.E.
0880104880 / 9780880104883 2001 Paperback
This lecture cycle presents the most accessible and illuminating of Steiner's revelations with regard to Christ, and his significance for humanity's spiritual development. He discusses the link between Buddha and the life of Christ, a description that unites Buddhism and Christianity, not in theory but in perceived spiritual deeds of these two figures. Utilizing a historical overview, revealing the relationship between the great religious traditions, and how they have conspired together for the good of humanity, Steiner never loses sight of the Gospel's great inner meaning, as echoed in the Gospel of St. Luke: "The revelation of the spiritual worlds from the Heights and its answering reflection from the hearts of men brings peace to all whose purpose upon the evolving Earth is to unfold good will."

<B>According to Matthew </B><I> The Gospel of Christ's Humanity</I>, STEINER, RUDOLF, CREEGER, C.
18 According to Matthew The Gospel of Christ's Humanity
STEINER, RUDOLF, CREEGER, C.
0880105046 / 9780880105040 2003 Paperback
"If we read [Steiner's] lectures with an open and attentive inner eye, we may be able to see the Christ mystery, not as a collection of dogmas or facts, but as a spiritual impulse that stretches far beyond the limits of Christ's own time and even of the lifespan of Christianity itself. We may even catch a glimpse of the high powers that govern the life of civilizations and of the great entity known as the human race." -Richard Smoley (from the introduction) For centuries people have been baffled by the varying accounts of Christ's life as presented in the four Gospels and have struggled to reconcile them. In these profound and stimulating lectures, Steiner addresses this conundrum. He shows how each of the Gospels presents a different lens onto Christ's life and message. Here Steiner reveals the Gospel of Matthew as the one that emphasizes Christ's humanity. But he does not stop there; his visionary perspective traces Christ's life and message to spiritual impulses that go back centuries, even millennia, to the legendary civilization of Atlantis, to the mysterious Zarathustra, and to the Jewish sect known as the Essenes.
An introduction by Richard Smoley, author of Inner Christianity, puts Steiner's vision into perspective for modern readers. Once you have experienced Steiner's powerful exploration of Matthew, you will never see the Gospels in the same way again.
