Birthday Candle - Beeswax , STOCKMAR
1 Birthday Candle - Beeswax
STOCKMAR

Cute small beeswax candles for dolls cakes or a birthday cake for the children's birthday party.

Stockmar beeswax candles are made of 100% pure beeswax without artificial colouring or aroma. Handmade beeswax candles are something special and beautiful. In the middle ages they used to illuminate fortresses castles and churches. Still to this very day candles made from real beeswax have a certain magic about them. Due to the warm light the incomparable scent and the celebratory atmosphere even a small candle can become the centre of the room. The natural raw material of candles is precious considering that a colony of bees produces approximately only 500g of wax per year. Stockmar Beeswax Candles consist of 100% pure natural beeswax. According to the country of origin the colours can vary from sandy to yellow-brown. Beeswax has a slight silky gloss and a fine scent. Genuine beeswax candles only produce their full scent when they are lit. The whitish "glazed frost" which can appear on the candles after a longer period of storage is only a sign of quality showing that natural beeswax has been used and can be easily wiped off. Stockmar Beeswax Candles are handmade. At Stockmar the age-old craft of candle dipping is still fostered.

0863159648 / 9780863159640 2013 Electronic book text
Many parents find it hard to know what toys are appropriate for children at different ages, and what kind of play to initiate and encourage. What can parents do to best help children develop and grow their skills, and their understanding of the world? Karin Neuschutz, an experienced educator and parent, addresses these questions in this concise, readable book. She discusses how children play, creatively and freely, and how they are affected by their environment and by the adults near them. She explores each developmental stage up to age seven, using case studies to illustrate particular issues. She then suggests suitable toys and dolls for children at particular stages, and nurturing activities. Parents and early-years educators will appreciate the dependable, practical advice in this book.

MARJA DE HAAN

Knitting can bring generations together. This practical and beautifully illustrated book, which contains step-by-step knitting instructions and patterns, was inspired by a granddaughter knitting a simple doll’s sweater, her grandmother knitting the doll itself, and the girl’s mother knitting a matching sweater for her daughter.

Even young children can learn to knit the basic stitches, and this book features projects suitable for every age and stage of experience: from simple dolls’ clothes for beginners, to sweaters for children and adults, and knitting the dolls themselves, which is more challenging.

Knitting not only stimulates the mind and develops motor skills and dexterity but is also a way of creating something useful, with love, which can be cherished.

Children treasure handmade dolls. Making a simple doll for a child is a gift for life, that encourages the magic of creative play. Kinder Dolls shows how to create handcrafted dolls from natural materials. A range of simple, colourful designs will inspire both beginners and experienced doll makers alike. These dolls are old favourites, originating in Waldorf Steiner kindergartens where parents make dolls together for their children, and for the school.

This is the first English handbook on Waldorf dolls. It is accessible to beginners, arises from British doll-making traditions and is specially geared toward helping children learn to play actively with dolls of integrity made from natural materials. Waldorf schools affirm the importance of simple playthings for children made from natural materials. Such dolls are characterised by simple expressions and designs. These leave children's imaginations free, rather than working towards 'perfect', overly finished dolls which are made of artificial materials. You can start with easy to make baby dolls, and then use the general sewing techniques to tackle the limbed dolls and clothes. Here are: ten different designs including soft, baggy, pouch, angel, sack and limbed dolls: colourful and pretty ways of making dolls' hair: twelve basic clothes patterns and ethnic variations: help with tools, techniques and materials: safety guidelines and sewing methods: recycling tips and where to get materials. These dolls are gifts which show children that they themselves can be 'makers'. Maricristin Sealey is a professional doll maker who also runs doll-making classes. She draws on a variety of rich traditions for inspiration. Kinder Dolls is illustrated by her daughter Isabel. 'A comprehensive guide to doll-making. The best instructions for doing hair styles that I have seen.' --- Judy Quick, Handwork Teacher 'Maricristin's book is a fine source for the beginner doll maker. It is a valuable primer, full of practical tips, simple designs and clear, easy to follow instructions.' --- Sara McDonald, Magic Cabin Dolls

HONEYBEE

Children have always used found items to create toys and props for imaginative play. Around the world they have used their mother’s scarves and pieces of cloth to make toys. Picking up a piece of cloth, a piece of wood, or a common housebound object allows children to use their imagination in a different way than giving them already formed objects. Putting their creative forces to work is important for creative thinking in adulthood.

A basket of colored playsilks is one of the best additions to a child’s playroom. It is amazing to see what children create with them.
Some children make costumes like capes, skirts, pants, hats, veils, animal tails and more. The next day the same silks become green grass for their toy animals to live on, blue water to sail the boats, or a rainbow can appear in the sky above them. Many children wrap their dolls in them or tie them on as a sling to carry a favorite animal or doll around in. They can be used to build forts with the sofa cushions, for a puppet show curtain, and for magic tricks.
