This book argues that our life has meaning and that we are privy to know what our specific purpose is for being here. Using astrological ideas and theory, we move to the psychological setting where this information is translated into very practical therapy with tangible results. The authors have designed a book which develops practical methods to discover an individual's calling in life, enabling readers to evaluate if their lives are on or off track with this particular calling.

Just as Australia sits ``Underneath the Southern Cross``, the Spirit of Australia is nourished and coaxed out of a fine fabric of light/spirit wisdom - the Auroral Glow. For me angelic beings gently gesture in the subtle Auroral light show and inspire all the stories on this album. - Marek

Our economy is focused on growth and profit. In any given business, success is measured by the flow of money, not the interest of the people involved. In Because People Matter, author Jurriaan Kamp tells us why there are better alternatives. Kamp argues that the world economy is not only based on money, but on human choices as well. It is those human choices that can promote the change necessary to transform our current crisis into a healthier economy that serves everyone. He offers insights on subjects such as a new method of dealing with national income; taxing the use of raw materials rather than income; a world trade based on reciprocity; money without interest; and the liability of shareholders and managers for negligence and environmental damage. Borrowing ideas from prominent economists, Kamp offers a coherent set of conditions for an economy in which it is the people that matter. Jurriaan Kamp is the former chief economics editor of NRC Handelsblad, a prominent Dutch newspaper, and is the founder and editor of the magazine Ode. "A wonderful and concise handbook of how modern economic theory has dealt a body blow to the prospect of a humane world.
Jurriaan kamp also shows the vectors of change that can lead us away from being economic ciphers to a system that enlivens and redefines what it means to be a human being." Paul Hawken, Environmentalist, entrepreneur and best-selling author of The Ecology of Commerce "A powerfully persusaive chronicle of why opposition to the current brand of globalization is certain to grow." Jeff Gates, author of The Ownership Solution and Democracy at Risk

Inspiration for working in community.
Lecture titles: 'The Radical Path of Consciousness: The Heralds of the Christ' by Hilmar Moore; 'From Moses to Paul: The Old Adam and the New Adam' by Rene Querido; 'Behold, I Make All Things New: Toward a World Pentecost' by Hilmar Moore
The first lecture surveys the important heralds of the Christ's incarnation and emphasizes the radical impulse that Krishna, Gautama Buddha, Zarathustra, and the Hebrew people imparted to the spiritual life of humanity. In the second lecture, Rene Querido considers Moses, who had such a formative influence on the singular development of the Hebrew people, and St. Paul, whose experience of the Christ led him to understand that the Messiah came for all human beings, not only the Hebrews. The third lecture attempts to describe the work of the Holy Spirit in the evolution of human consciousness, with emphasis on the capacity for spiritual experience. In an epilogue, Rene Querido places the conference theme into the life and work of Rudolf Steiner, as 'Behold, I Make All Things New' describes quite accurately many aspects of his revelation of spiritual science. ?from the Introduction

Rene Querido (1926?2004) was multi-national. He taught, lectured, and wrote on Waldorf education and various anthroposophical themes in French, German, Dutch, and English. He founded and advised several Waldorf schools and served as director of Rudolf Steiner College in Califoroia for fourteen years. Hilmar Moore, longtime student of the works of Rudolf Steiner, is author of Rudolf Steiner's Contribution to the History and Practice of Agricultural Education.

Contemplation, meditation and healing.

The central theme of these essays is: that we can creatively participate in what can be called 'reality-in-becoming.' But to do so requires using our will and strength to sustain and embrace a certain kind of inner tension which surfaces when we find ourselves within the activity of reconciling and integrating the contradictions between the poles of the soul-spiritual and the empirical-sensorial, between idealism and dogmatism, between the arrogance that 'it all depends on us' and a passive belief that our destiny is predetermined-by divine powers or a calculable physical-material course of events. We can witness the sphere in which the manifesting events prepare themselves, we can experience our own witnessing, and within this witnessing we can experience our freedom to change perspectives-with the consequence that different options are offered for our manifesting will, the choice of which can in turn change the quality and direction of the course of events. ?from the Preface

Friedemann Schwarzkopf (1947?2003) was a longtime student of the work of Rudolf Steiner, especially Biodynamic agriculture, the Goethean approach to science, and Rudolf Steiner's Philosophy of Freedom.

A Personal Journey across Foreign Lands and Centuries with Insights from Spiritual Science

This book takes us on an epic journey throughout Africa, Western and Central Asia, and Europe to explore the lives, culture, and landscape of the Judaic, Christian, and Muslim worlds. Motivated by a yearning to learn about and understand the "other," regardless of culture and faith, the author invites us on her adventures to ancient cities, architectural masterpieces, stunning landscapes, and even a camelback expedition in the desert.

Marie-Laure Valandro shares her insights, joys, and inner struggles—and her human-to-human and down-to-earth encounters with the people she meets along the way—as she endeavors to move beyond mere tolerance, to a place of true understanding and respect for the other. Her words of wisdom, as well as the insights of anthroposophists, theologians, poets, and historians, help to decipher the mysteries behind Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Not only are we, too, brought to a new place of understanding and wonderment, but we are also inspired to embark on our own journey of discovery.

Despite the explosion of books, videos and TV shows that claim to penetrate the mystery of "2012"-the numerical shorthand for the completion on December 21, 2012, of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar-consensus about its meaning seems to remain elusive. As metaphysical speculation mounts, professional astronomers and ethnologists dismiss the whole body of modern interpretations of the Mayan calendar as New Age gobbledygook. Among the supposed seers themselves-including Jose Arguelles, Carl Johann Calleman, and Daniel Pinchbeck-doctrinal disputes worthy of academics are now the norm. The scholars have every right to be miffed at the sometimes sloppy thinking and exaggerated claims of the seers, which tend toward enthusiastic proclamations of an imminent, universally accelerated psychic evolution, while the seers themselves have legitimate critiques about the limits of scientific inquiry when it comes to the prophetic traditions of ancient peoples. Christ and the Maya Calendar approaches the significance of 2012 by spiritually penetrating phenomena of today.
Drawing on the book of Revelation-which provides an archetype for understanding spiritual history, as well as on Rudolf Steiner's Apocalyptic indications, a completely new context for grasping the end date of the Maya calendar emerges. In a November 1919 lecture, Steiner made a stunning remark about Ahriman: "Ahriman skillfully prepares his goal beforehand ...[and] will find an important instrument for preparing his incarnation. His incarnation is undoubtedly coming, and this lack of insight will enable him to prepare it triumphantly." The subtitle of this book-"2012 and the Coming of the Antichrist"-refers to this coming incarnation of Ahriman. In fact, Steiner narrowed the timeline for Ahriman's incarnation, saying it would come "before even a small part of the third millennium has run its course." Just after Christmas 1919, Steiner revealed more about the impending incarnation of Ahriman, saying almost offhandedly that Ahriman's name might be "John William Smith." With this remark, he clearly pointed to the incarnation occurring in the English-speaking West, while other remarks made it is certain Steiner meant that the incarnation would take place in America.
In addition to penetrating the spiritual background of our time in relation to the coming of the Antichrist (the incarnation of Ahriman), the authors explore the significance of the Mexican mysteries and present a wealth of new research with the intention of helping the reader to navigate the Apocalyptic scenario currently shaping up, with the global financial crisis as one important expression. Most important, the authors refer to the Second Coming of Christ as the true event of our time; the incarnation of Satan/Ahriman is its shadow. The authors also show the significance of Divine Sophia as the antidote to negative consequences of Ahriman's incarnation. Finally, as a positive manifestation of the world of spirit in our time, the book discusses the significance of the young anthroposophist, Judith von Halle, who since Easter 2004 has born the stigmata, the visible signs of the wounds of Christ.
