Recommendations, exercises and teaching material.
This book is virtually a complete curriculum for any teacher wanting to teach children (or people of any age!) how to be musical via the recorder. It is particularly useful for teachers in Steiner / Waldorf schools, but other teachers and students will also find its copious exercises, duets etc useful. The music ranges from unison songs for pentatonic recorders to complex pieces for ensembles using various mixes of descants, trebles, tenors and basses. The book also contains text - the history and makes of recorders, recommendations for teaching different sizes to different ages, and many practical hints to help class recorder teaching. At the end of the book are explanations of musical terms and concepts, fingering charts, and indexes listing every song, showing the instrumentation, key, time signature and note range.
